On bail, runaway man faces new charges

A CHASE involving police and dogs has resulted in a 32-year-old man, recently released from custody on bail, being arrested and charged with with multiple offences after failing to stop for police in Tuggeranong yesterday (October 10).

About 1.20pm, police attempted to stop a blue Peugeot hatchback on Heagney Crescent, Richardson.

After failing to get through the intersection with Goldstein Crescent, the man fled.

Police dogs found him a short time later hiding in the backyard of a nearby residence.

He was arrested and charged with breach of bail, unlicenced driving, failing to stop for police, drug driving and aggravated reckless driving.
