A Queensland man was caught driving more than five times the legal alcohol limit, near Tharwa yesterday (June 13).
Police stopped the vehicle of the 30-year-old man during a random breath test operation.
He returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.279, more than five times the legal 0.05 limit.
The man’s right to drive in the ACT was immediately suspended, and he will appear in court soon.
It comes as more than 1170 RBTs were conducted in Canberra over the Queen’s birthday long weekend (June 10-13).
Out of the tests conducted, six alcohol impaired drivers were identified.
Police also conducted 38 drug screening tests, of which two drivers returned positive results.
Police report there were also 37 infringement notices issued, as well as 26 cautions.
