More rain forecast reinforces sportsground closures

ACT Government sportsgrounds are set to remain closed today (October 11), and potentially for the rest of the week.

Closures exclude the Melrose and Nicholls synthetic fields, and the Woden athletics track.

The decision has been made as high levels of residual moisture remains in playing surfaces.

More rain is forecast towards the end of the week, and this may impact the safe opening of the grounds across the weekend.

A further update on the conditions of the grounds will be provided ahead of their planned reopening.
