Taxi stolen at knifepoint in Gowrie

TWO 16-year-old boys allegedly stopped and stole a taxi at knifepoint in Gowrie early Sunday morning (January 30).

The taxi, stolen at about 6am, was recovered a short time later in Banks, and following a search by police the teens were located and charged with aggravated robbery.

Police believe the teens approached a number of vehicles in Wanniassa, Monash and Gowrie prior to the robbery, and are seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage relating to these activities.

Anyone that has information that can assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
