Christmas comes early for Canberra lottery winner

A CANBERRA man has won more than $100,000 in Wednesday’s Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

After missing the first calls, he realised he’d won both a consolation prize of $1000 and the guaranteed first prize of $100,000 – winning $101,000 in total.

The man says he purchased his ticket online.

“I’ve always wondered what it’s like to win a major lottery prize, and now it’s happened,” he says.

“I’m not going to tell anyone except my wife. We’ve been together for a very long time. Our golden anniversary is almost here!”
