Three nabbed in Chifley stake out

THREE people have been arrested for vehicle offences and breaches of bail conditions, as Operation Toric continues to crack down in recidivist behaviour.

On Tuesday morning police were told a stolen Mazda Bravo, connected to an investigation into a recidivist offender, was parked in Chisholm.

An intensive police cordon was established around a house. At about 3pm, a 27-year-old woman left the residence in another vehicle and during a traffic stop police checks revealed she was in breach of her bail conditions. The woman was arrested and charged with driving while disqualified.

A 28-year-old man, wanted for allegedly driving the stolen Mazda Bravo, was seen in the backyard of the residence. When police  entered the house, they arrested the man who was hiding in a bedroom.

He faces two counts of driving a motor vehicle without consent, joint commission theft, making off without payment and breach of parole obligations.

A 30-year-old woman, also in the house, was arrested on an outstanding warrant, as police checks revealed she had failed to attend a mandatory Sentence Administration Board meeting – a parole requirement for previous offences.
