Lake Burley Griffin’s water level will be lowered by 100 millimetres from Monday for two weeks to support ACT government construction works on the Acton Waterfront, the National Capital Authority says.
“The works involve excavating below the level of the lake to construct footings for a retaining wall.
This lower level falls within the lake’s normal operating range,” the NCA says in a media statement.
“Following completion of the works, the lake will return to normal levels through rainfall and inflows.”
