Street-racing dad caught with toddler in the back seat

One of two drivers caught street racing in Coombs had a small child in the car at the time.

At about 9.30pm on September 8 a police patrol in Coombs spotted two vehicles racing along Cotter Road.

A blue Volkswagen Golf and a black Nissan Skyline were weaving in and out of traffic before continuing along John Gorton Drive.

When police stopped the driver of the Volkswagen, they discovered the 35-year-old man from Denman Prospect had his three-year-old daughter in the back seat.

Police seized his vehicle, and he will face court at a later date for aggravated racing.

They are seeking information about the driver of the Nissan Skyline. Anyone with dashcam of the incident on Sunday evening to should call 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website

How about charging him with child neglect? He put his daughter at risk, with no apparent concern for the potential harm to her. Parental responsibility obviously of no issue for him.
