Two incidents beleaguer southside traffic

There have been two traffic incidents on the southside this morning.

Emergency Services are reporting a car fire at the intersection of Corinna Street and Melrose Drive, Lyons, which has closed the southbound lanes of Melrose Drive. The lanes are closed and Emergency Services says they are expected to be for quite some time.

Avoid the area, is the message.

The black triangle indicates the scene of the Adelaide Avenue accident.

Likewise on Adelaide Avenue at Capital Hill, where ambulance, fire and police crews are at the scene of a motor vehicle accident.

Adelaide Avenue northbound is closed from the first off ramp on State Circle. Transport Canberra says all northbound traffic is being diverted on to the first off ramp at State Circle. Motorists are advised to avoid the area. The closure is expected to be in place for some time.
