ACT swimmer dies at south coast beach

A man believed to be from the ACT has died after being pulled unresponsive from the surf at Gannet Beach at Bawley Point on the south coast.

NSW police say emergency services were called shortly before 4pm on Wednesday after the 54-year-old man was found unresponsive in the water by two surfers.

They brought the man to shore and commenced CPR until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived; however, the man was unable to be revived.
