A 39-year-old man refused to provide a blood alcohol sample and spat at police after he was arrested following a domestic disturbance in Torrens on Sunday evening.
When police arrived at about 6.15pm, the man was about to leave the residence in a white Mitsubishi SUV. Officers stopped the vehicle and requested that the man undergo a breath analysis, but he refused multiple times. He was subsequently arrested.
Police say that at the watch house, the man continued to be belligerent, spitting at and physically assaulting multiple officers.
He was charged with four counts of assaulting a frontline community service provider and refusing to provide an oral fluid sample.
