A 32-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly kicking and punching a dog in the face and back before attempting to pour petrol over it in Melba early on Sunday afternoon.

A short time later, police arrested the man in Evatt.

The names of people who are violent and/or cruel to animals need to be publicised, as these people are dangerous to humans, especially children and partners.

We could really do with a national database of those convicted of violent offenses, so people can find out about those who are a risk to others.
