A 36-year-old Kambah man, who is subject to a good behaviour order, has been charged following a retail theft in Fyshwick.
About 4pm on Sunday, the man entered an automotive store with another man and three children.
Police will allege the group distracted staff while the man used a knife to cut security fittings from items and place them into a duffle bag.
The group left the store a short time later, with the man getting into a black Volkswagen Tiguan. The stolen items are valued at more than $600.
Police searched the man’s Kambah home on Friday and seized a modified air-powered firearm, quantities of drugs believed to be Xanax, cocaine, steroids, cannabis and methamphetamine, as well as various prohibited weapons.
Police also located the stolen property from the Fyshwick store and a large quantity of other items suspected to be stolen.
About 2pm yesterday, the man was arrested on a nearby street in Kambah.
He has been charged with minor theft and breaching his good behaviour obligations, with further charges expected in relation to the firearms and drugs allegedly seized.
