Man, 90, dies after driving into car park pillar

A 90-year-old man has died a week after his car struck a pillar in an underground Gungahlin car park.

About 11.30am on March 23, police responded to reports a silver Toyota Camry had collided with a fixed pillar in the underground carpark at Gungahlin Village.

Police say the driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He died early on Monday morning.

If his death is determined to have resulted from injuries sustained in the collision, it will be the seventh road fatality in the ACT this year.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage should contact police via Crime Stoppers ACT.
