A 34-year-old man has been extradited to the ACT and charged over alleged fraud, burglary and driving offences.
Police allege the man used bank cards stolen from vehicles in Gungahlin in April 2025 to make purchases at service stations and a fast-food outlet.
Following investigations, the man – who was subject to a good behaviour order – was arrested on May 22 and later released on bail.
Police will allege that on October 7, the man was driving a stolen black Mazda 3 when it entered an underground car park and smashed a car window.
Officers attended and saw the vehicle leave the car park and drive through a red light.
A warrant was later issued for the man’s arrest after he failed to appear in court over the alleged use of stolen bank cards.
Police located the man serving a sentence in a NSW prison. Following his release on Sunday, he was extradited to Canberra on Monday.
He has been charged with fraud, attempted fraud and stolen property offences.
Police say he will also be charged with aggravated burglary, driving a stolen motor vehicle and failing to stop for police.
