Two men were arrested following separate family violence incidents on Friday night.
At about 7.30pm, police responded to reports that a 50-year-old man had allegedly assaulted and threatened his partner at a residence in Gungahlin. Police say it is further alleged the man burnt some of his partner’s belongings in a brazier.
The man was arrested and charged with aggravated common assault, property damage, aggravated property damage and using a carriage service to menace.
In a separate incident, police arrested a 47-year-old man in Ainslie on Friday evening after he allegedly contravened a family violence order and breached his bail conditions by contacting a woman.
A police search of his belongings located an imitation firearm and items suspected to be stolen.
He has been charged with contravening a family violence order, unauthorised possession of a prohibited firearm and unlawful possession of stolen property.
