A 51-year-old O’Connor man has been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing incident in O’Connor that left his 79-year-old mother dead and his father seriously injured.
About 8.45am on Thursday, emergency services were called to a residence on Dryandra Street after reports that a man had allegedly stabbed his mother with a knife.
Paramedics treated the woman at the scene for critical injuries. She died on the way to hospital.
Police arrested the 51-year-old man at the scene. He was taken to hospital and has since been charged with murder while receiving medical treatment.
A second victim, the man’s father, was also injured during the incident and was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
