CRAFT ACT has sent seven of its top emerging designers to Melbourne’s boutique trade event, Denfair, which runs until June 10. 

The designers living and creating in the ACT who were sent to Melbourne include Andrew Carvolth, Chelsea Lemon, Christina Bricknell, Elliot Bastianon, Rene? Linssen (the latest recipient of the Belle Alessi Design Award), Kate Nixon and Richilde Flavell.

Each of the makers is presenting a piece within the “Front/Centre” display at Denfair, ranging from ceramic tiles, pendant lighting, stools and furniture pieces.

This is the third iteration of Denfair, which began in 2015 with the purpose of creating a destination for contemporary design and art. Its organisers have billed it as “a sensitive beast”. Held over three days in Melbourne, the fair aims to create an environment of discovery around the idea of the “crafted experience”.

With a strong focus on Australian emerging and established brands, the event brings together talent from local and international brands to a concentrated audience of architects, interior designers, stylists, specifiers and retailers.
