Shirtless man sought over street assaults

Police are hunting a man after a series of alleged assaults and property damage in Gungahlin.

Police say multiple members of the public were allegedly assaulted and several cars damaged during incidents on Hibberson Street on Saturday evening.

Officers were called to the area about 6.40pm following reports a man was behaving aggressively and assaulting people in the street.

A review of CCTV footage has prompted police to seek public assistance to identify the man involved.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance and was not wearing a shirt. He was dressed in khaki-coloured shorts and black work boots, and was carrying a black shirt with green writing. At one point, he was also seen carrying a plank of wood.

Anyone who witnessed the incidents or can identify the man is urged to contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
