Man held for ramming partner’s car

A 40-year-old man has been charged after allegedly ramming his partner’s car and later returning a high-range drink driving reading Monday night.

Police allege the man approached his partner about 9.30pm as she sat in her car with two children, before punching the window and windscreen and then repeatedly driving into the vehicle.

He left the scene but was soon arrested in Kaleen.

Police say he returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.190, almost four times the legal limit.

He has been charged with reckless driving, assault, drink driving and property damage.
