Cheap lunches. The ANU food co-op

co-op lunch

A friend of mine is famously cheap. In fact he’s widely considered to be the least likely person to buy a round of beers in town.

But it does mean he has an eye for a cheap lunch. So after he twice in the last week suggested we luncheon at the ANU food co-op I took him up on this.

It’s staggeringly cheap. $6 for lunch!

That price does come with some strings mind you. There is no menu.

Lunch today was a chick pea soup and a bean salad with some mountain bread to mop it all up with.

But at that price who needs choice? And it must be said, it was delicious.

A bonus quirk is that customers are expected to wash their own dishes which certainly adds a communal feel to proceedings out in the dish washing room.

It’s a nice place to be with a real communal vibe to it, and as mentioned the food is both cheap and delicious, not to mention terrifyingly healthy.

Well worth checking out.
