Wheels 2016 coming soon!

THE Council of ACT Motor Clubs together with the BMW Car Club Canberra has announced that the Shannons Wheels 2016 vehicle display will be held on the lawns of Old Parliament House on Sunday 15 May 2016.

BMW Car Club Canberra, Mr Luke Wise, said the change of date from March and the new location were made following discussions with the National Capital Authority (NCA).

“The new location in front of Old Parliament House is a great location for a vehicle display and can accommodate easily up to 800 vehicles,” Luke said.

“The change of date has been necessary because other events being held in venues controlled by the NCA.

“The annual Wheels display is the Council of ACT Motor Club’s major charity fundraiser and the 2016 charity is the Technical Aid to the Disabled (TADACT) who repair, adapt and design equipment for people with disabilities, using a volunteer work force.

“2016 is the year BMW celebrates the centenary of its founding and the 50th year of the release of the BMW 2002 model and will be the featured vehicle in a special spotlight display. The BMW Car Club Canberra is organising this year’s Wheels event on behalf of the Council of ACT Motor Clubs.”

Wheels 2016 is expected to attract vehicles from all of the 75 clubs affiliated to the Council as well as vehicles from interstate. The display is open to the public from 10 am to 3pm. Entry by gold donation to TADACT would be appreciated.
