Investigation leads to illegal hotspot

AN ongoing investigation lead to a hotspot of ammunition, cash, stolen property and drugs in Civic yesterday (August 30).

The drugs seized are suspected to be cannabis, cocaine and anabolic steroids.

A 33-year-old Canberra man was arrested at the residence and will face the ACT Magistrates Court at a later date charged with property, firearms and drug offences.

Officer in charge at Tuggeranong Police Station, station sergeant Chris Meagher says this outcome was the result of police focussing on re-offenders.

“This is a good result for police, but also serves as a reminder that any information, particularly from the community, is essential to police investigations”, he says.

Information can be reported to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000 or via act.crimestoppers.com.au
