Tharwa Bridge to close

Tharwa Bridge… closed next week.

THARWA Bridge will be closed for maintenance and inspection works for three days, 9 am to 3.30 pm, starting on Tuesday, September 5.

Due to its design and timber construction, the bridge requires regular inspections and maintenance works are conducted as required. The maintenance works will include tightening the bridge’s decking and trusses.

The bridge closure will mean Tharwa Drive will be closed between the entrance to Lanyon homestead and the intersection with North Street/Naas Road in Tharwa.

A detour will be in place via Tidbinbilla Road and Point Hut Road. Motorists are advised to allow an additional 20 minutes journey time.
