A WANNIASSA man has been taken to hospital with minor burns after he attempted to fight a house fire early today (1.52am).
Firefighters were alerted to the incident on Sternberg Crescent where all residents, except for the man, self-evacuated.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and the cause of the fire is unknown at this stage, but will be investigated.
Initial estimates put the damage bill at approximately $300,000.
