Taps turned on for Darkfest 2018

THE Wig & Pen Tavern & Brewery has opened the taps for “Darkfest”, its annual brewing event.

It kicked off last night (June 21) to mark the winter solstice, with 10 dark beers hitting the taps.

While ale connoisseurs have become familiar with the Wig’s innovative winter products over the past decade, the brewery’s 2014 relocation to Llewellyn Hall on the ANU campus has introduced a round-the-clock musical note, which they describe as having “been incredibly helpful in the ‘atmospherising’ process.”

During the two-week brewing event the public is promised “spooky, fairy-lit gloom and smooth jazz” along with a re-vamped winter food menu.
