AINSLIE and Gorman Arts Centres are presenting “The Artists Toolkit”, a free workshop from 12.30pm-2.30pm, Thursday, June 18. Online via Zoom, Sydney artist and facilitator Clare Cooper will present her concepts and methods of “futuring”, suggesting how over the next 5-10 years, we, as a community, can support each other to bring about more equitable futures in the arts and beyond. FORTY-NINE previously unseen works from the estate of painter David Boyd, consigned by members of the Boyd family, will be auctioned online from 5pm, this Sunday, June 14, via artmarketspace.com Boyd’s work was ahead of his time in addressing the mistreatment of indigenous people in Australia.

OPERA North’s staging of Leonard Bernstein’s first opera, “Trouble in Tahiti”, conducted by Tobias Ringborg, features everything from jazz riffs to yearning ballads. It’s a colourful criticism of American consumerism and 1950s suburbia, and stars Wallis Giunta, winner of the Young Singer Award at the 2018 International Opera Awards, in the role of Dinah. BUDDING Theatre will be running real, live, face-to-face school holiday programs in July for young performers itching to perform again.
