Artsday / Theatre platform’s giving money to local creatives

StageCenta founder Richard Block

THE Canberra-based theatre information and ticketing platform, StageCenta, is giving away $500 each day for one month to a randomly-selected theatre performer or creative who has uploaded their profile to the StageCenta website. Founder Richard Block says actors and other theatre workers should visit stagecenta.com and upload their photos and bio, which will later be transferred by StageCenta to a new app he is currently planning. Daily winners will be announced here.

ARTSACT’s latest eNews has useful information about the next stage of easing of restrictions, which comes into effect at noon this Friday, June 19. Galleries, museums, national institutions and historic sites can remain open provided there is no more than one person per four sqm throughout the venue, and can commence guided tours for groups of up to 20 people, while dance and music classes or groups can have a maximum of 100 people (including staff) per indoor or outdoor space, or one person per four sqm, whichever is lower.

A work by Jo Victoria.

CRAFT ACT is holding a free, live floor talk with Robyn Campbell and Jo Victoria, who are the exhibiting artists from the collaborative exhibition “Transference”. The floor talk will be held 1pm-1.30pm, Saturday, June 20. The exhibition shows the potential of glass and porcelain to convey fragility and transience. There will be limited capacity so bookings are essential here

FROM noon this Friday the National Portrait Gallery will be able to accommodate up to 100 visitors at a time, but would like visitors to know that they still require pre-booking for one of their hourly sessions at portrait.gov.au
