THE Australian National Botanic Gardens lets Canberrans get up close and personal with prehistoric giants with “Megafauna: Myths and Legends,” where around 14 megafauna sculptures can be seen throughout July.
THE “Champions of Change” film festival will see five short films created by emerging local filmmakers screened over three evenings in the nearby region, with free tickets, refreshments and Q&As. Crookwell Memorial Hall, 4pm-6pm, July 8; Gundaroo Hall, 4pm-6pm, July 9 and Dalton Hall, 4pm-6pm, July 19.
THE Thursday and Friday performances of “The Year of Magical Thinking” at The Q, Queanbeyan, have been cancelled because of cast illness. The show’s run has now ended.
CANBERRA Men’s Choir will have an open “get to know the choir” night on Monday, July 11, at Harmonie German Club, Narrabundah. Inquiries to 0407 909602.

- M16 Artspace has the M16 Studio Artists’ Exhibition, “Inside Space” by Tahlia Duncan-Kring, “All of US!” by Hands on Studio and in Chutespace: “ShootSpace aka Bad Mudda2” by Vasiliki Nihas Bogiatzis. July 9-24.
Music performances over the weekend:
- WINNER of “The Voice Australia 2021”, Bella Taylor-Smith, is launching her new EP “Look Me In The Eyes” at The Street Theatre, 8pm, Friday (July 8).
- ARIA award winner and alt-pop singer songwriter, Amy Shark will be at Canberra Theatre on Friday (July 8).
- FANNY Lumsden and her band The Pack will be playing The Street in a new version of her ARIA-winning Best Country Album, “Deep In The Fallow” joined by NZ songwriter and story teller Jenny Mitchell on Saturday (July 9).
- CANBERRA -born classical guitarist Rupert Boyd and his wife, cellist Laura Metcalf, perform as the duo Boyd Meets Girl at Wesley Music Centre, 3pm, on Sunday (July 10).
