Cops catch Yarralumla man on stealing spree

A YARRALUMLA man has been arrested after stealing a car in Crace and breaking into a house in Campbell this week.

The 24-year-old had entered into a Good Behaviour Order on Tuesday (June 7), before stealing a white Toyota Corolla from a car park in Crace on the same day.

On Thursday, the man stole number plates from a Toyota Camry in Lawson.

Police report at 9.10am on Thursday the Corolla, with stolen number plates attached, was used in a burglary of a residence in Vasey Street, Campbell, during which the occupant was confronted by the offender.

On Thursday afternoon, the Corolla was located by Police in Yarralumla outside the 24-year-old’s residence and was seized.

About 10pm Thursday, police arrested the man after conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle he was driving in Kingston.

He is charged with driving a motor vehicle without consent, two counts of knowingly concerned burglary, and breach of good behaviour obligations.
