UPDATE, Friday, 9am: Police report that Lachlan Porreca, 27, who escaped from the Canberra Hospital’s Adult Mental Health Unit on April 29 has been arrested and returned to the unit.
POLICE are looking for a 27-year-old man who escaped from the Canberra Hospital’s Adult Mental Health Unit on April 29.
The man, Lachlan Porreca, is wanted in relation to a number of serious driving offences. After being arrested for these offences last month, he was ordered to undergo a mental health assessment at Canberra Hospital.
Police say he escaped from the mental health unit and officers from Operation Toric have made numerous attempts to locate him without success.
Described as Caucasian in appearance, about 180cm (5’11”) tall, with a slim build, fair complexion, short brown hair, and blue eyes, he has arm tattoos as well as a distinctive tattoo of a crown on his right hand.
Members of the public are urged not to approach Lachlan, but to contact police on 131444 to report any information regarding his whereabouts.
