Police on the trail of stolen resold tools

Evidence bags of seized power tools.

About $10,000 worth of tools and equipment were stolen from the bulk recycling centre at  Symonston on Saturday.

The allegedly stolen tools were listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, where police members of the public inadvertently purchased them.

On Monday evening police searched a home in Chisholm following reports that the stolen tools were being sold from a residence.

During the search, police located a number of stolen Milwaukee-branded tools belonging to the bulk recycling centre.

Police say they want to talk to anyone who believes they bought any of the tools, or who may have any information in relation to this incident. They emphasise that these members of the public are not in any trouble.

Call 1800 333000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
