A 14-year-old on bail was caught and restrained by the owner of an Audi SUV the boy was in the throes of stealing from a home in Forde early on Friday morning.
Police say the owner awoke around 3am to the sound of his vehicle engine starting and went outside as the SUV was reversing from the driveway.
The owner opened the door to the driver’s side and restrained the 14-year-old boy until police arrested him a short time later.
Police say the boy – who was subject to bail conditions – has been charged with breach of bail and taking a motor vehicle without consent.
