More than $15 million has been paid to eligible Canberra families to help cover school expenses since the ACT government’s Future of Education Equity Fund began in 2022.

The government says more than $3.7 million has been distributed to more than 6300 students from over 3100 families in the 2026 funding round, as at September 30.

The fund helps families meet costs including uniforms, books, excursions, sports equipment, tuition and music lessons, and is available to eligible students from preschool to year 12 across all ACT schools.

Payments for the 2026 school year are $400 for preschool students, $500 for primary school students and $750 for high school and college students.

Applications remain open until November 30, with families able to include all eligible children in a single application, even if they attend different schools.

Families can apply through the ACT government’s schooling assistance webpage. Applications for the 2027 funding round open on December 1.
