A truck driver has been charged over the fiery six-truck crash on the Hume Highway near Gunning that destroyed all the vehicles but left the drivers with only minor injuries.
Police allege two trucks collided while entering the Windmills Rest Area near Breadalbane about 5am on June 30, sparking a fire that spread to four parked semi-trailers.
The blaze destroyed all six trucks. One was carrying butane cans, which exploded in the heat, while other loads included alcohol, resin and memory foam.
All six drivers escaped, with only minor injuries reported. Two were taken to Goulburn Hospital for mandatory testing.
Following an investigation, police have charged a 28-year-old man with negligent driving. He is due to appear in Yass Local Court on August 27.
