A Moncrieff man has been charged over the alleged burglary of a Bonner home and theft of an electric scooter after police allegedly linked him to the crime through fingerprint evidence.
Police allege the 30-year-old broke into a Bonner residence about 1.30pm on June 1 and stole an electric scooter valued at about $800.
Officers and forensic investigators attended the home shortly after, with investigations allegedly identifying the man after a fingerprint was located at the scene.
About 1.30am on Sunday, police stopped a white Subaru Outback and found the man lying across the vehicle’s back seat.
During a search, officers located a knife, black gloves, a torch and scissors inside the man’s backpack.
Police allege the man was the offender identified through the fingerprint evidence, and that the clothing he was wearing matched clothing worn during the Bonner burglary.
The man was arrested and charged with burglary and theft.
