Thirteen Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations will share $650,000 in ACT government grants to expand their capacity and deliver community services.

The latest round of the ACCO Establishment and Expansion Fund will support projects including establishment costs, service delivery vehicles, specialised equipment, evaluation and monitoring systems, professional development and volunteer and board training.

Recipients include Aunty Time, Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation, Indigenous Allied Health Australia, Nguru, Yeddung Mura and Yerrabi Yurwang Child & Family Aboriginal Corporation.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs Minister Suzanne Orr says the growing number of organisations applying for the grants demonstrates demand for funding to build the sector’s capacity.

“It is vital Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can access culturally appropriate human services, delivered by organisations that understand and support the varied needs of Community,” Orr says.

The $650,000 funding is in addition to more than $8 million allocated in the 2026-27 ACT Budget for Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations to deliver services.
