A 32-year-old man has been charged after allegedly assaulting his former partner and breaching a family violence order.
Police allege the man attended the woman’s home on May 17 and, when she tried to make him leave, closed a door on her arm, causing serious injuries.
The woman attempted to call an ambulance but the man allegedly smashed her phone before driving her to hospital.
Police further allege he lied to hospital staff about how the injuries occurred.
The incident was later reported to police and the man was arrested in Taylor on Wednesday.
He has been charged with aggravated common assault, aggravated property damage and contravening a family violence order.
