A police officer narrowly avoided being hit by a vehicle during a traffic stop in Waramanga on Monday night.
Police say an officer was approaching a vehicle that had been pulled over on Hindmarsh Drive about 9.50pm when an SUV collided with the police car, knocking off a wing mirror.
The SUV then allegedly failed to stop and continued west along Hindmarsh Drive.
Police are seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage of the collision or the SUV in the area around the time of the incident.
Anyone who can assist is urged to contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
