Scullin man punches police officer

A 47-year-old Scullin man has been charged after allegedly punching a police officer following his arrest for drug driving.

Police say the man was stopped on Drakeford Drive in Wanniassa about 12.35pm on Tuesday, where he allegedly returned a positive roadside drug test.

An oral fluid analysis at Tuggeranong Police Station allegedly confirmed the presence of a prescribed drug.

Police allege the man later became aggressive at the ACT Regional Watch House and struck an officer in the face after attempting to grab documents.

The man, who was subject to a good behaviour order, has been charged with driving with a prescribed drug in oral fluid and assaulting a frontline community service provider.
