LGBTQIA+ activist Barry Charles and screenwriter, director and artist Samuel Leighton-Dore take part in a free panel conversation, Men In Love, at the National Film and Sound Archive, May 18. Then on May 19 Book Club at the NFSA continues with a focus on Little Women.

Questacon’s latest blockbuster exhibition, Curiosity : Building Breakthroughs in Lego Bricks is billed as an exhilarating exploration of scientific knowledge, technological advancements, engineering feats, and mathematical wonders, recreated in detail with Lego. Questacon, until May 2025.

• Persian fusion ensemble Avaye Rood will play their new single, supported by Mahesh & Tapestries of Sound alongside performances by Iranian musicians Pouya Laghaei & Kaykhosro Mokhtari and local artists Parastoo Seif & Marjan Bonyadi. The Hive, Crawford Street, Queanbeyan, May 17.

• Violinist/violist and viola d’amore player, John Ma, returns to the Wesley Lunchtime concert series in The Duke Speaks, a program that focuses on his own Baroque violin, made by Richard Duke in London around 1770. Wesley Music Centre, Forrest, May 22.
• Canberra Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jessica Cottis, performs Edge of the World, Llewellyn Hall, May 22 and 23.
