Sports arena with a pool lead the southside promises

The Canberra Liberals will allocate funding for mowing, upgrades to sporting grounds and facilities and footpath maintenance in Murrumbidgee.

A new multi-purpose sporting arena located in the Woden area, construction of the Molonglo East-West arterial road, improvements to key intersections and urgent upgrades for the Mawson Group Centre are the latest Liberal campaign promises.

They are also promising to duplicate Athllon Drive, build the Molonglo Town Centre and allocate funding for mowing, upgrades to sporting grounds and facilities and footpath maintenance.

Canberra Liberals leader Elizabeth Lee announced the policies saying the party had “a strong plan for the electorate of Murrumbidgee which will focus on enhancing community infrastructure, transport, cost of living relief, healthcare and education.”

Local MLA Ed Cocks said  the new southside arena would include an Olympic-size swimming pool, multi-sports facility, and community meeting and event spaces.

“With recreational and aquatic facilities like water slides, a splash park, and a hydrotherapy pool, the arena will be all-ages friendly,” he said.
