Three drivers have lost their licences after separate incidents involving speeding, drink driving and suspected drug driving across Canberra last week.
A 39-year-old Kaleen woman was caught driving at 93km/h in a 60km/h roadworks zone on the Monaro Highway in Hume on October 8, with two young children in her car.
Police say she returned a blood alcohol concentration reading of 0.195, almost four times the legal limit. Her licence was immediately suspended for 90 days and she is expected to be charged with speeding and drink driving.
The previous evening, a 20-year-old Bungendore man was stopped in Chisholm while driving with a suspended provisional licence.
He allegedly tested positive for cocaine and returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.090. His right to drive in the ACT was immediately suspended.
In a third incident on October 9, a 20-year-old NSW provisional driver was caught travelling at 144km/h in an 80km/h zone on Hindmarsh Drive in Narrabundah.
He allegedly returned positive roadside tests for drugs and alcohol. His vehicle was seized and his right to drive in the ACT suspended for 90 days.
Police say the three drivers face court proceedings over the alleged offences.
