A prescribed hazard reduction burn is scheduled for Mount Taylor Nature Reserve today, subject to suitable weather and fuel conditions.

The ACT Parks and Conservation Service says the burn aims to reduce bushfire risk in the area.

Smoke may be visible across parts of Canberra, while flames and glowing embers may be seen near the burn site.

Fire crews will monitor and patrol the area until operations are completed.

Residents are asked not to call triple zero unless they see an unattended fire.

Further information is available on the Parks ACT website.
