Mike Zissler steps down from Lifeline Canberra

LIFELINE Canberra have announced that Carrie-Ann Leeson will be taking over from their flamboyant CEO Mike Zissler in July.

“It is time for me to take on some other challenges and seek new and exciting opportunities,” Mike said.

“I have spent the last 4 ½ years talking about the importance of suicide prevention in our community, and how we need to ensure we develop a strong and resilient community here in Canberra, and across our nation.

“Suicide is a significant cause of death and I believe we all need to begin to discuss it more openly and look for a way we can all get involved and help prevent suicide.”

Incoming CEO Carrie-Ann Leeson brings to Lifeline Canberra substantial experience from the private sector in highly commercial environments, as well as significant leadership experience and a background in preventative health programs and Psychology. She has been a volunteer and on the Board of Directors for the last three years.
