ACCESS Canberra has released the 10 most popular names for babies born in the ACT during 2015.
Charlotte heads the list of the girls’ names, with Ava, Olivia and Zoe coming in equal second. Charlotte has now been in the Top 10 each year since 2003.
William maintains its long standing popularity in the ACT, topping the charts again this year, as it did in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2013 and 2014. Oliver came in second, with Max and Oscar making the Top 10 for the first time. Perhaps as a result of a rise in the popularity of the young royals, parents of baby boys appear to have a preference for names of English royalty, with William, James, George and Henry, and at a stretch Charlie, all in the Top 10.
