Police investigate ‘suspicious’ fire

FIREFIGHTERS have extinguished a fire in an unoccupied unit on Cygnet Crescent in Red Hill after several emergency calls from 9pm last night (February 9).

On arrival, firefighters found the unit well alight but quickly controlled the fire. A search of the building confirmed no one was inside the unit.

Crews are now undertaking ventilation operations.

The fire has been deemed suspicious and will be handed to ACT Police.
