Artsday / Studio reopens with reimagined pizza boxes

CANBERRA composer Chloe Sinclair’s “Waiting for Summer to Come”, written for the commissioning series, Australian Miniseries, will be performed online by principal clarinet of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, Alan Vivian, 7.30pm, Friday, July 24, accessible here.   

“TECHNO-LY The Weekend”, as part of Kambri’s virtual music series, “Music on the Screens”, will see party sets from Vessel Collective and DJ’s Pranav, Mami and Jasmine, filmed on stage with decks, lighting and an audio-visual show. Streaming free from Manning Clark Hall from 7pm, Friday, July 24, here.

THE humble pizza box is the catalyst for M16’s studio artists’ exhibition when it reopens its gallery doors at noon this Friday, July 24. Each artist was given a pizza box by curator Jas Hugonnet as the starting point to a work. The box could be painted, deconstructed, reassembled, incorporated into an installation or used as packaging. The exhibition will be on at 21 Blaxland Crescent, Griffith, from noon-5pm, Wednesday to Sunday, until Sunday, August 9. 

THE Where You Are Festival at “Live In Ya Lounge” has a live-stream night featuring singer/performance poet Danny Pratt, along with the band Spinning Plates performing original songs from 7.30pm-9.30pm, Friday, July 24. Register here.

SOPHIA Szilagyi’s exhibition of digital prints on photographic rag paper, “A walk in the gardens” is inspired by two celebrated Australian gardens, the Sydney Botanical Gardens and Musk Cottage in Victoria.
