Cash, guns and drugs seized in Garran raid

POLICE seized cash, drugs and guns during a house search in Garran yesterday (September 2).  

A 36-year-old man was arrested by detectives from the Criminal Investigations Drugs and Organised Crime team during the police raid at about 2.30pm.

Police found three modified rifles, a revolver, an antique pistol and multiple types of ammunition. In drugs, they located about 85 grams of heroin, 85 grams of methylamphetamine, 200grams of MDMA, steroids, human growth hormone and magic mushrooms.

Police also located gold bullion, jewellery, a gold-plated basketball card and four telephones plus $71,300 in cash, which is suspected to be proceeds of crime.

The man is facing charges of three counts of trafficking in a controlled drug other than cannabis, unauthorised possession of three prohibited firearms, unauthorised possession of one firearm, possession of ammunition generally, possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime and supplying anabolic steroids.
