Comanchero drugs grabbed in Greenway bust

Suspected drugs on a plate at the Greenway police raid.

A MECHANICAL drug press, cannabis, drug paraphernalia and a white powder suspected to be cocaine were uncovered by police during a raid on the Greenway home of an associate of an outlaw motorcycle gang property.

Detectives executed the search warrant on Thursday (May 19) following an investigation into the Comanchero motorcycle gang’s activities in the ACT and surrounding district.

Det-Insp Mark Steel said police “will continue to disrupt and dismantle criminal gangs operating in the ACT. This includes targeting their associates and professional facilitators – anyone associated with these gangs are on our radar.”

Thursday’s Greenway warrant follows the charging earlier this month of a 30-year-old Coombs man alleged to be a senior Comanchero member  with drug trafficking following an interstate arrest. As part of that arrest, police seized about 700 grams of suspected methamphetamine, about  $40,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia, a handgun and ammunition.
